Check the connection with the host, this is the message I get whenever I attempt to transfer ANYTHING on my nx70v - hotsync, MS Import, none will work they all give me that same error message... I have my USB connected to the back of my computer, and its recognizing something because every time I attempt a transfer it says "New Hardware Found" but cannot find a driver to support this "New Hardware"
What good is my new nx70v if I cant do any transfers??? I've checked the HotSync Manager and it has 'Local USB' checked off - designated to COM1 (I don't know if I should mess with that or not)
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do to fix this problem - I have even taken the device over to my friends house and had the same problem, on a newer computer - I've read the manual thoroughly but I figure I must be doing something wrong procedure-wise. Any help at all is appreciated, as Sony with their terrible tech support has been absolutely no help at all.

To find the driver point it to the X:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\USB_Driver. Where X is your hard drive.

Hello again - I registered, but am the same user that started this thread.
I tried what you said about pointing to Program Files\Sony Handheld\USB_Driver - That seemed like the solution, and I'm sure for most people it would be, but unfortunately for me I have some bad luck as I got the same result; it said once again that the hardware could not be installed... it really makes absolutely no sense at all to me - after that happened I performed a hard reset, uninstalled all of the programs off of my computer and started from square 1, I tried again to get it to work following the first time operation procedure, and then once again pointing to USB_Driver when prompted, once again to no avail.
Im honestly lost here, and Sony is definitely no help in this situation as I can't even find a means of talking to an actual PERSON from their company who could help me along... I think I will either sell or attempt to return this clie if I cant find a solution soon; a shame, I really was enjoying every other aspect of the handheld - Sony really needs to work on their software compatibility

I had that problem once before, it was caused by Iomega's ZIP-250 Active Disk software. It wouldn't allow me to add any drive. Once I remove Iomega's Active Disk, trouble went away. The good news is the ZIP-250 still worked fine!
Additionally there was an incident with installing an HP Photosmart printer. HP provided the fix by changing two line in the desktop Registry, here again, it was involving Iomega. Not to so this is your cause, but to give an example of the weird things that can happen. BTW, this only affected MS Import.
Most likely there is no simple fix and most likely have a corrupt driver in the Win XP OS or you have a defective cradle or Clie. You will need to isolate where the trouble is.
Question has this always been this way or is it a new installation?

Its always been this way -
I was finally able to get a hold of a sony master tech today to help me out. Unfortunately even his method of attempting to force the USB drivers to install did not work (Forcibly install a USB Controller, then assign the accompanying drivers with it). He thinks that its the Clie that is the problem and suggests that I send it in to them to have it worked on.
I just have this wierd feeling that when I get it back the same problem will occur.
At first he thought the fact that I used to have Palm m100 software on the computer might be the conflict, then he dismissed that idea - i don't own nor have I ever owned any removable storage device such as a zip drive. I do have a USB all-in-one HP Printer, but I doubt that is the problem...
Do you think I should just send it in to Sony and let them "fix" it.
