View Full Version : Linking To-Dos to the DateBook?

I'm an Agendus v6.0 user.

Is there anyway to link an existing To-Do into my Date-Book listing?
For Example: I make a to-do with info for an upcoming service call...this works fine, but when I actually setup the appointment date/time I would like to just link the existing to-do into my datebook without having to reenter or copy/paste the info (making 2 entrys...one appt and one to-do).

Can this be done? I can't see any reference to this in the manual.

Can it be done with Datebk5? I can't find any reference to it in their manual either...but it's big and I might've missed it. If it can, I'm not opposed to switching...

I know, I can set an alarm for a to-do, but I would prefer to have the appointments in my datebook instead.

TIA

You can covert the ToDo to a meeting in Agendus. Open the ToDo, go to the options menu and select convert to meeting. Agendus converts it to a meeting. Just set the meeting time and you're done.

In Datebk5 I often use the floating events for what you're talking about. Just choose Menu>Misc> Convert Float<->ToDo. That will make the ToDo a check-off-able (making up words here) appointment that you can set times, alarms, etc on. Usually I convert the Float back to a ToDo once I've done it so it gets archived with my ToDos, but that's a personal thing.

You also can just link to a ToDo (just checked that out). Make sure the split screen is open. Have the cursor in the appointment you want. Choose the L icon in the bottom row. If the split screen switches to the address book like mine does just use the pull-down arrow in the upper left corner to chose ToDo, then select the ToDo you want. It will flash a couple times and there will be a link icon (like an L with an arrow) next to the appointment. Click on this to view the ToDo.

Personally, I prefer floating events because you don't have to create a second appointment to link the ToDo to, and they behave almost exactly the same.

Hope that helps!

PS - if you want to convert the ToDo to an actual static appointment just convert it to a float, then in the details screen of the float change it to type of Appt.

It's only obvious if you know about it. Good luck.
