Sony marketing Japan replied my email asking about the possibility of installing Decuma on NX-60.
They said it's IMPOSSIBLE.
Well if I am the marketing people I would probably say the
same thing.
But then I checked ATOK input software. It seems like Decuma
Japanese on CLIE NX73V/80V is a combination of Decuma and
ATOK. If I spend some 4000 yen, I could get the ATOK system
which also supports kanji/kana direct input according to the
advertisement on its homepage
http://www.justsystem.co.jp/atok/atok_palmjg/jgraffiti/index.html
Somebody told me that ATOK already supports Palm OS 5.0 J.
However, in the above-mentioned homepage, I saw that
it supports only up to Palm OS 4.1J, and NX series machines
are all not in the supported list. The only 'hope' is that, the page
was last updated in Feb. Perhaps they already renew the
software but not the homepage yet?
Jesus, I am not native Japanese speaker and I eager to have
a system for direct kanji input on my NX-60....
(Don't suggest me to buy NX-73V/80V. I just got my NX-60
one week before their announcement, with special discount.)
If you know for sure anything about Decuma or ATOK on NX60,
please provide me with some suggestions!!
For example, if a friend who just bought NX-73V is willing to
share his Decuma program for me to try on NX-60,
what files should he copy from the system?
Thanks a lot!

The decuma system looks good, and on the movies on their web-site it is used on a nx70. Where do I buy this software?

alquimista,
I am using GoGoPen (www.neoscorp.co.jp/palm) on my NX60 (Japanese version) and it works fine. Direct Kanji input is no problem at all.
I assume that you are using an English NX60, right? Not sure, if GoGoPen requires a Japanese PalmOS. You may want to download a trial version first. I have no experience with the ATOK software with direct Kanji input that you mentioned.

OH yah...FYI, I did back up beforehand just to play safe.. but Decuma didn't crash my NX70 :) Don't see why it wouldn't work with the NX60. THis is the ENGLISH Decuma available for download btw...

Yeah, I didn't need to do a soft reset either!
Copy the files to the MS and then copy to RAM. Use Silk Button on the bottom status bar to switch between Decuma and Graffiti.
Hot Sync doesn't work, get write protect error. Use any file manager, piece of cake :)

I even moved it to flash without any problems. Works great....

Hi, all,
Thanks for the information and experience sharing. Actually I also tried myself, and it works on my NX60 (Jap Palm OS).
Interesting thing is that Andy dig out this thread after so many days.
Thanks Andy.

nope i'm not from new creations, nice meeting a fellow singaporean on Cliesource :) I have a NX73 now, so I have Decuma built into my Clie. I've seen people use Decuma in NZ90s.

Regarding Japanese Decuma version, I've gotten it to work - sorta. The application itself works fine. The only thing is that I don't have the Japanese fonts/dictionaries loaded, so I can't even use Decuma because when I enter a character it gives me a "?" Anyone know which files exactly I need, and even better, can anyone point me to a site to get them from? (PM if necissary...)
