I'm using PocketLink, because it's gonna be such a pain to get NetFront installed.

There were some bugs in it until recently and it crashed and then wouldn't start back up on my NX70, but the latest release seems to have fixe all problems.

Seems nice and fast, well designed, and uses the full 320x480 screen too.

I downloaded it from palmgear.

It depends on which sites you are visiting. For PDA optimized URLs, NetFront is fast. Try this site:

NF my favorite browser, not!

Make sure PowerSaveMode is unchecked in Network settings - advanced.

The polling it does, really slows things down.

I see no polling whatsoever when I have PowerSaveMode checked. How can you see this polling? I get no data transmitted on the adapter (when in AdHoc mode) and the LED blinks just as slowly as when PowerSaveMode is off.

In fact, I just did a lot of testing of the WL100 (I wrote a review on it) When I tested a 1MB download I got the exact same times with PowerSaveMode "on" and "off" (if reception is good). Trouble is that the speed drops noticeably when the reception gets blocked. If you are close to the Accesspoint there should be no speed difference. If you have a lot of blockage in the way then hang you can see a slowdown in PowerSaveMode (with it off as well though)

With good reception I would get a 1MB e-book downloaded in 6 seconds (to RAM) Just by reversing the direction of the Clie (antenna facing away from the accesspoint and into my body) that time would double or even triple.

BTW With PowerSaveMode "off" a battery charge lasted between 2 to 2.5 hours. With PowerSaveMode "on" it lasts for over 4 hours. (I ran a few exhaustion tests with 30 minute blocks of running NetFront and Win-Hand)

I too have a Dlink DI-614+ at home and use netfront. The only time I see it slow to a crawl is when it is trying to render complex tables. Other than that, it's pretty quick. (Sorry n2ifp). My only grip about it now (other than size) is that it cannot display the Yahoo mobile pages - it returns a MIME error.

As far as power save, it depends too. At home on my Dlink, I have to disable powersavemode because otherwise, it is painfully slow. However, on campus, I see no difference in speed between having it on or off in terms of speed and reliability, but battery usage is much better. Not sure what the differences are in the two network. I think on campus they are using Cisco gear. (Might make me want to play with the settings on my Dlink).

I have same problem with Yahoo Mobile pages, "Invalid content. (Invalid MIME type)".

is there any work around for accessing this page?
