MPEG1 conversion help

I have a terrapin Video CD recorder ( nice consumer product) that burns Video CDs.

I have the MPEG1 files from the VCD, but when I try to use image converter, it says "selected file's format is not supported".

??? Is it an encoding rate thing? It's a true MPEG1 file.

Suggestions on how to convert are greatly appreciated.

Is it a .dat file? Have you tried renaming it .mpg? If that doesnt work, run it thru tmpeg or virtualdub...
