I have downloaded quicktime animatrix part 2,3 and 4 and coverted them in image converter, but when I play back on my TG50 it appears in my movies list and opens but then seems to flick from the first frame to the last and locks the unit and I have to perform a reset.

although I converted the matrix reloaded trailer and others and they play back fine.

cancel the repeat playback then it'll prevent your Clie from locking up. Click on properties and uncheck the repeat Play.

back to the issue, with the movies.
It's the original movie data that's causing this problem. Although it passed through ImageConverter, but actually it is still not playable, sometime others get picture but no sound.

you have to use some Video editing tool such as QuickTime Pro 6.

thanks for the reply, It has stopped the crashing. but it still won't play, now it starts then skips to the end and then on to the next video on my ms.

I'll have to look into getting QT pro

you might want to hold back on the QuickTime Pro 6 since there're many other video editing software out there. Though I don't fiddle with different types of editing tools, I'm sure many here in cliesource does, and can offer you other solutions. I persoanlly use VirtualDub but I know that would not work with *.mov files. I think all your files are already in *.mov extensions right? otherwise you can try VirtualDub it's really cool & Freeware. Might come in handy one day with video of other types of extension such as *.dat, *.avi.

The safest way to do it is:

Run any video file you want to use through TMPGEnc in regular VCD format MPEG-1 file. Then run through image converter. If you want to edit the file, use virtualdub and encode it in divx. TMPGEnc can handle divx files just fine.

PS: If the file is an mpg file then its quicker to use tmpg to edit it (under file, mpeg tools) but don't forget to encode it again in mpeg 1 format afterwards. Just because its an mpg or mpeg file doesn't mean it'll work on the clie.

The BEST way to do it is to run it thru QT Pro. Open the file you want to convert. Hit <file> - <export> Then click [options] Leave the video alone and click [settings] for sounds. Compressor should be "none", rate should be "44.1 kHz", size "16-bit", Use "stereo" Then hit [OK] and [OK]. Drop your new file into image converter and VOILA! I dont recommend re-encoding the video with TMEG as it will introduce generation loss and artifacts. I have converted several hi-rez .movs that looking stunning on my NX...

Don't you have to buy quicktime 6 pro in order to do that?
