Any help available?
I have a Clie T615C - was working just fine a short while ago (HandyShop gets me through my grocery shopping....)

Just popped it into the cradle to hotsync, and nothing happened when I hit the hotsync button on the cradle. So, I popped it out of cradle and went to power on, and nothing.

So, I panic a bit and then soft reset, and now I have a recurrning blinking Palm Powered logo -- the first image after a soft reset.

Any suggestions that don't involve losing everything?
TIA,
Cindy

Tanker Bob has a pretty good primer on resets: http://www.tankerbob.com/palm/resets.htm

This happened to my SJ30 about 3 times because of a bad program I had installed. You definitley need to hard reset. It fixed all my problems.

Thanks for the quick replies...

T615 has no hold button - at least not to my knowledge.

Hard Reset is behind me... and I've deleted LauncherX, which was generating a fatal error (thanks to the thread on that one!) Guess I have to go back out launcher shopping!

Now it seems that almost every time the unit powers itself down, when I try to restart it, I get a fatal error. If I power down, and back up, no problem.

Any hints as to where/how to look for possible corruption?

It seems I had the same problem with Launcher X this morning. Every time I clicked the home icon, it gave me a fatal error. Damn program. Try downloading Syncall. It backs up everything just like backup buddy and its free.

This sounds a little like what happened to me...see my recent post titled Idiot Move of the Year for details...

I have been using LauncherX and it has been working perfectly on my 615. What version are you using? LauncherX 1.02 is the latest and is rock-stable in my experience...Do you have any hacks installed? How much free space on the Clie did you have when the blinking logo appeared?

Marius,

Yuppers -- I read your post yesterday as I jumped into ClieSource looking for help. I'm thankful for ClieSource, since I was already pretty sure that calling Sony for support wouldn't get me too far...

I am using the latest release of LauncherX, and in the week or so that I have been using it, I've grown very fond of it :)

Hack-wise, I have X-Master, and though all are disabled right now, I have FontHack123, SwitchHack, MiddleCapsHack, and Ben's Menus installed -- but again, I have disabled all.

My Clie has not gone below 5MB of free space -- plenty of elbow room, I should think!

Sad to say, I am still getting Fatal Alert errors EVERY time I power up -- this is with no hacks running :( Soft reset brings it back 'round, but, well... every time???

Gonna probably try another hard reset tonite... and then dig out that Best Buy extended warranty paperwork. I'd head for Best Buy in a minute, 'cept I seriously doubt they will have a T615 or even T665 to give me, and I'm not so sure I want to give up my 615 for an SJ...
