Hi,
I use Desktop To Go, and recently, for the first time, I received the following error (here's the hotsync log):
HotSync operation started 1/26/2003 2:10:50 PM
OK CLIE Album
OK Outlook Calendar
OK Outlook Contacts
Outlook Tasks synchronization failed
Outlook Notes synchronization failed
Protocol Error: Too many files. (4403)
HotSync operation complete 1/26/2003 2:11:19 PM
Any ideas how to fix this? It won't continue with the hotsync! I found one quick fix: If I disable syncing the ToDo database (Outlook Tasks) and the Memo database (Outlook Notes), it works fine... but this isn't ideal obviously!!

Clear some of your completed notes and some of your completed tasks and you should be fine

What do you mean exactly by completed notes and completed tasks?
I don't actually use the ToDo database at all - I use Datebk5 and I only use appts and floating events...
What is a completed note exactly? I use Wordsmith and Documents To Go for Memos...
Thanks!!

Datebook keeps all events, appointments etc even after they are past. You need to purge all of that data to free up some room. Datebk5 handles a history database that you can move completed or past events appointments etc to, then you could back up that db on your computer.
Their web site and the manual has complete information on how this is done.
Cheers,

Bob -
Are you sure this is the problem? This would surprise me since a) the Calendar syncs fine (that is, datebookdb), and the memo sync should have nothing to do with the datebook, and the memodb is one of the two that won't sync... Also, my datebookdb is only 58k, and I have 2542k free in ram...

No conduit for Netfront. So you must mean the backup. I checked and there isn't a backup, but there is an archive. Maybe you should delete the Netfront file(s) in the Archive folder in the Sony Handheld folder on your PC.

I have no clue and I have no idea how large the data file can be. I have had stuff get corrupted with Outlook though. I don't use Outlook anymore, just the Palm Desktop to keep it simple.
To "unsnyc" a conduit, i.e. shut off the conduit, go to your palm desktop, and go to hotsync, then custom, and from there you should be able to figure out what to sync versus not syn. Hopefully that answers. Also, you just figured out why you should always backup to a memory stick so you can go back to you last time you did a sucessuful hotsync. Believe me, I speak from experience. And, sometimes going back to a "backup" is the only thing that works.
