Does anyone know if this http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50105453
Compact flash card adaptor will work with the sony Wifi card.
I would like to use the sony card with intel drivers in my laptop.
Any help would be great, thanks.

I would see no reason why it wouldn't work. I have two, an HP from my PPC days and a Eiger film card adapter.

What would one use this item for?
I'm a little unclear on what the CF port on my NX is actually for (if not used for the wireless LAN)

I tried an adapter from an Epson printer and my laptop was able to use the WL100 just fine. Remember to use the "PC-card" version of the drivers from Intel, the CF version is only for PocketPC devices.
Too bad NetStumbler doesn't support it (at least on my Win2K setup) :(

The CF adapter allows a CF card(SOny WiFi card included) to function in a PCMCIA slot usually found on most laptop PC's.
At the moment, the CF slot on the Clie is only used for the WiFi card and some dial-up modems.

Okay, I know I'm responding to an old thread, but I searched the forums and found this on on using the WL100 in a PocketPC.
Do I understand this correctly that the WL100 card can be used in PocketPC (2002) devices, if I install the PC Card version of the Intel driver?
Many thanks,
Mr. T.

Dear Larry,
can any pc-card to cf adaptor be used? I ask that because in my local stores the have adaptors in the store-section where they sell memory-cards for digicams. No one of the vendors could tell me if they work for communication-cards.
I just came to this question because of the architecture of the sd-cards in palm-pda's. sd-io is used for communication and sd or mmc for memory.
Greetings from Switzerland, Christian.
