This might be out of topic but....

Pages like yahoo.movie only let you view the moview while you're online.

Sorry Newbie here.Thanks a million!

I would definitly try www.mjpd.com, they've got some good stuff. What kind of movies?

maybe I missed something on their site but mjpd doesn't have much... they have like 5 versions of the matrix, some bmw films, a few commercials and that's about all!!!!

oh also their site makes you log in through so many annoying security codes and passwords that you feel like you are entering area 51 !!

well, good thing about mjpd.com is the movies are all pre-made ready to play right off your clie.
the downside is playing off kinoma player.

Yeah, I think mjpd.com ROCKS.
It's true, there's not a massive amt. of variety right now, but what about ppl who can't dl it all (y'know, 11mb takes like 1 hr. at a time) in a few days, or can only go there once a wk, etc.
Also, I think the guy said he has a real job that takes his time too, of course.
Still has about 75 vids right now.
I'm impressed. Made a bunch of requests. Much better than I can do on my own. (I don't own Kinoma.)

I think the issue with sound is only because of the difference hardware configuration between NR & NX (sound driver). but the issue is resolved now. :)

Eddy, I downloaded a movie only last week for the NR (which I wanted to play on my NZ) and as stated, it didn't have any sound. When did the issue get resolved? Is there a step that I have to do that I skipped??

Eddy
06-11-2003, 03:04 AM
no, you've the NR version, that's why. :D
Get the NX version then it should run with sound, and assuming you did place it on "PALM/PROGRAMS/KINOMA/" folder right? Hope this helps.

Oh I get it... I thought you meant both work on both. Yes, the NX version runs fine on mine... but he's got so much more fun stuff on his NR site that I got tempted :)

Any other sites you know off?

Eddy
06-11-2003, 04:13 AM
err.... wow, you're quick in response. As I just got up my head is still spinning.... heheh :D
The NR uses a different sound playback (I forgot.. something like Yamaha sound support) and will not work for NX/NZ. So you've to get the correct NX version. :D
regarding to sites.... I don't know of much other sites, thus of yet. There's another site with ImageConverter *.MQV format movies hosted on it, as for now there're limited amount of movies.

It's from Halesy, another Cliesource Member. You can also go through his tutorial on how to convert your own movies too! :D

Haha... yup thats me... lightning fast!!

Tried downloading the movies.. I guess the server is down...

Do you know of any way I can covert *.Dat files to the Movie player???

EZ's CLIE

Yep.

Eddy

MovieMaker Ver1 built-in of WindowXP can handle the *.DAT & output into *.avi format (Version2 of MovieMaker will combine the sound with Video & can't go through ImageConverter)
Also VirtualDub is another, DVDx2, as well as many other....

Thanks for the positive comments (from most). As stated by someone above, yes I do have a real job! And my real job has been BUSY for the last few weeks, and it just hasn't been letting up much. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things and start updating my site again soon (working on ripping Final Flight of the Osiris from dvd). Yes, the login method on my site sucks, but that's how PHP-Nuke works. And it keeps people from hotlinking my content from their site, which is a plus. And no NR and NX movies are not interchangeable. Wish they were, but they aren't. Thanks again!

mjpd, you have a great site!!!

Eddy, I have DVDx but I still can't seem to do the conversion properly. Don't know what I'm doing wrong!! Am opening the "Open DVD source" thing but am getting an error message.

I'm a little slow when it comes to this stuff so simple instructions would be appreciated!! :D

Thanks!

Eddy

Actually the following instructions goes to the credit of another Cliesource member. But I forgot who.... :D

DVDx2.2 rip to mpeg format
STEP1: click on
Settings --> Input Settings.
(new window opens)
STEP2: There is a section on the mid-left side that says:
"Output Frame Rate:"
Using the drop down arrow select the "23.976 NTSC" Then Click
OK (window closes)
STEP3: click on
Settings --> Output Settings.
(new window opens)
STEP4: on the top right hand corner you should find a box that
says: "Export Settings:"
change the current value (352x288) to 352x240
Click Apply (window closes)
STEP5:Go to
File --> Open DVD Root (new window opens)
then select your DVD Drive.
(new window opens: "Select Title")
STEP6: Select the one that says: TitleX Longest Prog: ####
then select the biggest one to Rip the whole movie or just select whichever one you like to rip only parts of the movie (Which, by the way, is really cool)
STEP7: go to
file --> select destination --> browse --> name the file "*.mpeg"
Hope this helps

I agree that I don't have a huge variety on my site, but I have what I have, and I'm offering it to the public. And if you have cookies enabled on your browser, you shouldn't ever have to log in except the first time. Ahh cookies...they aren't just for breakfast anymore...

I think that MJPD is a great site, I think that a site dedicated to Kinoma-converted videos is great, keep up the good work!

Sorry guys, you must've missed my thread a couple weeks ago...

http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26622&highlight=pulling+the+plug

It has been taken down, due to lack or time and resources to continue updating the site on a regular basis. I am however, sending all my movies to someone else to host them for me. So they will be back up in one form or another!

I use the Pocket PC movie websites.

Most of the movies are MPEG-1 files already designed to be run on a pocket device with half-VGA resolution. All you need to do is convert them to MQV and you're in business.

www.pocketmovies.net

www.pocketrocketfx.com

Pocketrocket FX requires you join their Yahoo user group in order to get access to the movies. But it's free and only takes a few minutes. Their stuff updates every 2 weeks or so, but that also means that old stuff gets deleted pretty fast in their archive to make room for the new ...

Unemployed at the moment, so not a lot :-(

Gives me time though to update some stuff that's needed it e.g. my website :-) And trying to figure out what else I can do with my CLIE :-)
