View Full Version : divx into the clie nx - best way?
i am quite new with my nx. i do have lots of divx movies on my desktop and would like to convert some into the nx movie player format. the most stable results i got, when i first converted a movie into mpeg1 using the tmpeg encoder and then coverting this file using the clie image converter.
all direct trys (divx into mqv) lead to unplayable mqv-files. since i read that some people use virtualdub to convert files into a format which the image converter is able to convert correctly i do believe it should ba able somehow (direct divx convertation). but i dont know how.
how are your ways to convert divx into mqv? there should be more than me having some divx to convert:cool:
I use VirtualDub, then also add a plug-in decompression for DivX then everthing works so far so good. :D

did you mean a codec? or did you mean there is a divx plugin for the image converter?
are you able to convert directly divx into mqv which the nx understands?
oh, sorry for the misunderstanding there.
I meant the codec for supporting DivX while using VirtualDub. Just VirtualDub alone cannot handle DivX files so you've to download a codec support for it then it can manage files very well.
As with ImageConverter, it is just too straight forward that only the simpliest *.avi type files can be converted. :) I cannot directly convert DivX file to MQVs. Only converting DivX files using VirtualDub to *.avi files then convert again with ImageConverter. As I'm not an expert at this pls excuse my limited knowledge. but things seems to work nice for me so far and haven't came into any problems yet. :D

Hi Eddy,
You stated "I meant the codec for supporting DivX while using VirtualDub"
How would one go about getting that codec. I'm not sure what search terms to use in a web search. thanks,

Actually the IC CAN convert DIVX video directly no problem but many DIVX files have compressed audio that IC cannot handle. When I run thru VD I NEVER compress the video, just do pass thru and uncompress the audio track. Your system does have to have the proper codecs installed however...

What settings are you using for Divx files. I'm trying to keep the file a managable size and get the correct audio out so the image converter can handle it. Please tell me what settings to use w/ my NX70.

Hi Eddy,
Could you please tell me what codec you are talking about? Where can I get it? I have been trying for a long time to encode divx movies on my nx80 but have been unsuccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've written a brief guide to help with using VirtualDub and ImageConverter to get movies onto the CLIE. This is valid for DiVX movies as well. Very briefly, 1 - Use VirtualDub to get the file into a format IC supports, then use IC to convert it to CLIE format - easy! More details...

halesy...
your instructions work perfectly! Do you know if there are compatiblity issues with the hans preference program for IC and IC 1.1? I haven't tested it, but I think I remember reading somewhere that this combination would produce an error message.

I've read in the forums here someone saying Hans doesn't work with 1.1, but I can't confirm this as I don't use Hans.
Glad to hear my instructions worked for you.
