I have a new Sony P72 camera that shoots 640x480 mpgs and am a little confused -- not exactly clear to me what I need to do to be able to view them on my T665C. Kinoma Player to view?

Do I need conversion software on the PC side? Never played with videos before so don't have any that I know of (Windows ME).
Would Kinoma Producer do the trick? Recommendations??

Also, Is there anything at all that would allow me to view the videos on the 665 without running them through the PC first?

Just trying to figure out what I should download and try out. . . Or if it's even doable. Thanks!

The T series cannot play mpeg movies natively so yes, you'd have to have converter software like kinoma. There is also an image converter program that comes with the T series that supports videos but its been my experience that it sucks.

Yeah, Kinoma Producer would be better than the Sony supplied software. I find I can get a better quality (and more control over options) with it.

I've actually managed to fit a full length movie on a single 128 meg MS. Since it was short (Pi) , and B&W instead of colour I could manage it, with 20 megs to spare, with a bit of loss of quality.

Bionic Antboy, do you use the advanced settings on Kinoma producer and what do you use? I am doing the trial of Kinoma producer, converting a 640x480 mpg, and the quality is really poor. I just used the T665C dropdown menu item on the conversion. . . .trial doesn't give you any options for advanced settings.

Based on what I see on the Clie, I'm not real inspired to pay for it, unless the advance settings will clean up the clip -- it's very pixelated. Looks MUCH better on my PC and on the Cybershot LCD display.

Advanced settings can help a LOT. The default settings are pretty poor quality. I think they are set to keep the file size small. Quality can be much better if you don't mind using more MS space.

MAN that orig. 128Mb limit on the MS is DEATH, isn't it?
Shouldn't those engineers be fired like there was no tomorrow?

Memory Stick PRO. So they were given another chance to still work @ SONY!

Yeah, but they sure left <OS 5 users out in the cold. Even w/2x128Mb, you prob have to flip the stick & do an intermission hand-puppet show for your friends while they wait....
Er, why can't they retro-fit the MS Pro sticks for <0S 5 again?
