First off, brew coffee. Once that's done, pour yourself a large mug and then browse through the forums of ClieSource. :)

Congratulations on your new Clie.

Congrats. You bought the best valued handheld on the market. Or am I just rationalizing my purchase?

Congratulations!!! That is a great PDA one I had for a while before getting an NX70V. Do as Joel says browse the forums that strike your fancy and use the awesome Cliesource search engine. You won't find a better resource.

Agree with the above posters 100%. I had a T665C for nearly a year before going to the NX60 last Thursday. Loved it - it's a GREAT handheld.

Gratz on your purchase!

Ah! Another opportunity to say how much I love my T665. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. Be sure to use this sight as others have mentioned. It helped me to convert from my Prism and to become very comfortable with the T665. Also highly recommend Tanker Bob's web site. As you browse through Clie source you'll come across many posts from him and he always list his website.

Browsing through the forums can be a bit of an information overload of a scattered type!

Have a look at these two sites since they have good reviews and very good hints and tips on maximising the use of your PDA with the memory stick.

Oh yeah ... congrats on acquiring a T665. Though it's not the newest, it still has the looks and the grunt to do the job. Hey! I own a T615! :)

I would get my hands on some awesome programs like Wordsmith and Omniremote. I used MS Dictationary too. Games are a must for me too. I have Insaniquarium, Mummy Maze and VEXED (Its free). You can get it from www.palmgear.com

Congrats on your new clie. I once thought I regretted on my decision on buying a 665C. But now.. NO WAY!

What you have to do with the t665c?

1st get zlauncher, then jackflash and jacksprat.
Don't forget couple of the MS 128mb.
Afterward, you could buy other apps that you like and pump up your t665c. You will see that so many good apps to be loved in your t665c.

For file management, e.g. beaming files, copying them, moving them between RAM and a memory stick, I use Filez (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/filez.shtml).

I get my tap-tap-tap gaming nirvana from Space Trader (http://www.freewarepalm.com/games/spacetrader.shtml), which reminds me of my beloved childhood game Elite. I do think that action games don't really work. For example, iRogue is a little too complicated -- it has to be able to be played all with a minimum of grafitti strokes with the rest tapping for me to enjoy it.

There's also Vexed (http://www.freewarepalm.com/games/vexed.shtml) if you're into puzzle games. Not nearly as slick as Bejeweled, but it's free and very puzzle-oriented.

As you can tell I spent a lot of time combing through the files on freewarepalm (http://www.freewarepalm.com/).

Tons of applications to use the Clie. For one, download an ebook reader like Palm reader, Mobipocket or Plucker and read your hearts out with downloaded ebooks. Start off with an e-book from J Tolkien's LOTR series. Then have a game of Bejewelled Hi-res version (totally awesome). Go into some multimedia, get the Kinoma Producer and convert some of your favorite TV series that you missed watching and watch it on your Clie on-the-go :). PM me for good sites!! (totally free!!)

You should be aware, though, that LotR is not in the public domain, and no sanctioned electronic versions have been published. So any LotR e-book you may encounter is a pirate edition, distributed in violation of copyright and against the wishes of Tolkien's estate.

Just a point of information, for those who care about such things.

The book, "How to Do Everything with Your Sony Clie", by Rick Broida and Dave Johnson (McGraw-Hill/Osborne), lives up to its name. Snag a copy of this and read it, and you will achieve instant maven status.

The best Space Trader (http://www.freewarepalm.com/games/spacetrader.shtml) strategies are formed once you get the big picture of all of the events that can happen in the game.

Most missions will wait for you at a given planet, so I tend to click over to Memo app to write down what's where in the current game I'm playing.

Last game I finished with a 119% rating on Normal difficulty with a fully souped up Wasp ship.

It could use graphics of weapons fire on the battle display to add excitement and give the idea of whether you're getting pummeled badly or not sooner rather than later. Maybe three different colors for the pulse, beam, and military lasers. That way you could also get an idea of what kind of weapon the pirate has instead of judging by the damage it deals over time.

I've started off on Hard level, and it's not kidding. There are massive pirate ships wailing on my little Gnat!

First thing to do with a new OS4 Clie is get the OS5 font library. The OS5 font is much easier to read than the default Sony font.

The page is here:
http://www.pilot.sk/lubak/cliefonts.htm

And the direct download link is here:
http://www.pilot.sk/lubak/down/OS5.pdb

Also, if you're planning on using the Clie as an MP3 player, a 128MB memory stick can tyically hold 2 CD's worth of MP3's, with room for some programs left over. I noticed Buy.com has a 256MB memory stick (2 x 128MB banks on the same stick) for $51 after rebate, cheaper than I paid for my 128MB stick a year ago.

dont bother with zlauncher. Get appicon, some iconsets, and vb3 hack. Youll have a much cleaner looking, simpler clie.

zlauncher does look a little too spastick and cluttered

7/5/3: GET A CASE AND SOME GREAT SCREEN PROTECTION: I use Sony's PEGA-USC11 WITH the original flip-cover. This case was for the N-series but the T-series models fit with their covers on, Velcro on back is okay with me. Also Innopocket's "Screen Protection Filter" (#ST-0601, one [1] to a pack) beats Sony's PEGA-SP60 for scratch resistance and Writeright's for ease of application and dust resistance.
