I've gone so overboard with my NX and it's video capabilities, that I've started ripping my DVDs. :D I now have the entire first season of HBO's OZ formatted for the NX. Each episode was converted through Image Converter Standard Quality and is about 115MB per episode. They look great full screen on the NX. I'm also part way through converting the first season of The Sopranos and Episodes 1 through 36 of the Robotech Macross Saga :D

Overboard...yes...but it gives me something to watch at lunch time while at work. hehe

Hi,
What software do you use to rip the DVD ??

I'm using the same software that was pointed out in another ripping post. DVD Decrypter > DVD2AVI > TMPGEnc > Image Converter

I have been trying the same approach (DVD Decrypter --> DVD2AVI --> etc.) but am unable to get the sound (the video comes through fine, but no sound). Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

When you do it, are you setting DVD2AVI to do wav? If you don't, you won't get any sound. Be sure to set the Decode method (on the audio menu) to that.

....or at least...it'd be a good idea if that new worm wasn't wreaking havoc everywhere. Hell I can't even get a route to the server now!

Just Downloaded DVD Decrypter.

Copied a DVD to hard disk but I can not work out how to copy a file for use on the NX can someone put up a word for word including settings.

Thanks

Thansk The Mooch done as thread said and all works fine.

Another question Is there a way to get Image converter to send the converted movie to the hard disk and not the Memory stick, especially if you do not know what size th converted movie will be.

If you want to get it to go to the hard drive, when you click add to memory stick, it asks for a drive letter, tell it the drive you want. It'll say that it doesn't see a stick there, but let's you send it there anyway. It'll create the same movie directory as on a Memory stick on the root of the drive.. Then let it convert away!

Are some DVDs impossible to copy well? My first and last attempt was to rip and convert the last Star Wars movie. The sound was off by a few minutes. I assumed I did it wrong, or it was well protected, and haven't been back to try it again 'cause it requires so much hard drive space to do a whole movie.

yes mr p-----just change the drive letter to that of your harddrive and you are all set!
