any of the cordless logitech mice. I have the cordless trackball and while it took getting use to thumb navigation I prefer the trackball in general OS navigation. Reason is because surfaces don't matter, your hand stays stationary.
For other applications like graphics where cursor location is critical I would get logitechs optical wireless mouse. Then of course any flat surface other than glass will do. ;)

I have an iBook so I wanted something portable. I got the Kensington Pocketmouse Pro Wireless. The transmitter fits conveniently in the mouse for travel and the software that comes with it is written for OS 10 and integrates into System Profiles. I'm pleased with it. The only issue I have is that some of the older apps don't integrate with all the mouse functions - namely Acrobat with the center scroll button.

I looked for that wireless Kensington mouse every where last December and was unable to find it in any of the local computer stores. I ended up buying the Logitech MouseMan Traveler, it was 40 bucks. Has a cord, but it's tiny.
Does the cordless Kensington need batteries?
