Has anyone found a workaround for the kludgy numeric input on the NR keyboard?
Holding Fn for every number is lame. Number lock helps ,but Fn is then needed to get a decimal.
This would make a great hack. Leave all numbers as numbers and the decimal intact (instead of generating a ?)

There is a hack called KeyRotateHack that eliminates the need for the Fn key. You enter alternate characters with multiple pushes of the key. It may be available in the Files section here under Hacks.

Thanks for replying so fast. I've tried that hack before and found it to be more tedious than holding the Fn key. I guess a dedicated number pad would have a good thing to design at the start. Maybe the empty space at the bottom 1/3 of the unit would have been a nice place for a 10 key number pad.

I really agree with that. So much wasted space when there could have been an extra row of number keys. I'm looking for an overlay for the graffiti area with numbers only, big enough to press with my finger. I can enter the letters with the keyboard.
