Mates, from all over the world:
(hehehe)

Converting a MPEG Music VideoClip of 40 MB (3:10 min), and converting to the Clie nz90 fullscreen size, and about 96kbps mp3 audio, would take how many MBs on a MemoryStick ?

What about a 210 MB Simpson's Episode ?

All in Full Screen NZ90 size ?

Can we try to biuld a comparisson table for each format, mqv and mpg ???

Those question will helmp me out when choosing a 512 or 256 MS PRO.

CHEERS !

If stick capacity is an issue (I got the 1GIG stick so it's not for me - hehe) then mqv is your best bet as it has one of the best compression ratios (210MB simpson's episode can be compressed to 100MB). This does not compromise the movie quality.

Cheers

I use "normal" mode when compressing my 210 MB simpsons episodes, and they are all 41-45 MB..

You buy a VHS or DvD of some episodes, rip the episodes, then use the Importer.

Ok, I thought maybe there was some other way. So if I take one episode of the Simpsons I'm guessing it'll be around 120 MB then right? And if I transfer it to my Clie using importer, does it decrease the size in any way?

Of course not !

As I said, my Simpsons episodes are 200 MB+ on my computer. When I use the Importer to make them into the CliePlayer format, the quality gets a tad worse(but very nice quality nevertheless) and the size is around 45 MB..

Then...

I think I'll buy a 512 MS !

For the videos, apps and MP3s !

Thanks all

Oops... i didn't mean 120... I meant 210!!

And I do believe the word decrease does mean "SMALLER"

But thanks for your help anyway!

The smartes thing to do is probably to use the CF-driver and buy a 1 GB CF-Card..

Donnici, for the price of a 512 MS, wouldn't it be cheaper to get a 1GB CF? Unless you know of way to get some cheap MSs :)

I thought of about the CF.

I can get a 512 MS for $ 226
Also a CF for almost the same price (which brand is the fastest?)

But, I read that the MS is FASTER, and more reliable than the CF.

Issues that I have read about the CF:

-Large videos keeps skipping while playing.
-doesn't works with movie recorder
-Slow mp3 playing
-unstable during apps loading and some other issues.

So, this Eruware driver doesn't puts the CF side-by-side to a MS !

So ?

Any ideias ?

Aprecciating your help, guys....

Thanks !

I see. Have been thinking about getting eithe a bigger MS or the CF. People using the CF, have you run into these problems? Anyone know if they coming out with better drivers?

A newer driver is coming out tomorrow I think.. I am very happy with my 256 CF Card, VSFMark(yes I know it is faulty) gives my MS and CF card the same scores(5 mark difference). If you get a MS Pro however, that is faster than CF and MS.. yes movierecording doesn't work, but I think that is expected to be fixed tomorrow.. I currently use the CF card for launching programs, and storing large files.. Very convenient.
