Please, if you are using a Vaja I-volution case, submit a review. What is the case made of? How well does it protect? How long did you have to wait for it to be delivered? How much does it add to the bulk? Photos please!

Received mine yesterday. Excellent quality leather and fits like a glove. You must be prepared that the camera cannot be accessed through the case.... and no storage slots for ms. But, with these minor issues... I really like mine. I got the one with a belt clip, I use it at work a lot... and had it in today. Easy to access, very very good clip...

Can someone with an I-volution please comment on how convenient it is to use with the NX in Tablet mode?

Do you always have to open it fully and pop the screen out of the case....?

Looks a little odd on the web site animation. And I use mine mostly in tablet mode.

i guess the real question is now that you have it in your hands - do you think it's worth 150 bucks?

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and really like it.

I chose if over the flip top case as I had one of those for my NR and the sides were too exposed. I got a small chip in the paint as a result.

Yes, you have to pop the display side out of the case when you want to use tablet mode.

It's not worth $150. No case is. Unfortunately, there is no other case at any price that provides as much protection or is as nicely put together IMO. I had no desire for a metal case, BTW.

So from the time you ordered it online until the time it arrived at your door took how long? And where is it shipped form?

It shipped from Argentina on 1/8/03.

It arrived in Portland, OR on 1/13/03.

With upgrading Clies every 3 months or so, it doesn't seem worth the expense or trouble. By the time Vaja comes out with a new case, Sony has already come out with another Clie model.

So when using in tablet mode, can you flip back the cover behind the clie.?

Thanks

khakiman,

Yes, you can do that, but then the edges of the case are against your palm.

I just let the top cover flop down when using table mode.

Got mine today!

1) Nice case with very fine Argentine leather (my uncle told me this and he's a small leather goods maker).

2) I like the extra brown sheep-skin pouch Vaja included as the bonus. Nice style! Can use it when I want to put my iVolutioned NX in luggage.

3) Finishing is superb. I guess Vaja makes each case like a sample rather than a mass-produced product.

4) BUT...dont buy it if you only want to stick with tablet mode for it's extremely troublesome to un-flip the cover while staying in tablet mode. So I made to compromise to myself to start writing in flip-mode, which is actually not as difficult as I imagine, with the very firm support of the case. You just kinda hold the hinge (instead of the keyboard) place while doing the graffiti.

5) Is it worth 150 bulks. Well it's worth it if you need it.

By the way, it is not at all bulky with the thin cushion. The only thing is that you cant access to the MS in flip mode.

150 bucks is ludicrous for a case...I don't see what in anyone’s mind would make spending 150 bucks worth it...Unless you have money growing on your trees. That’s Just My opinion though

thatse 1/4th the price of the bloody thing itself..and only a little more than half for me.

I cant agree with you more. But my NX is just not "complete" w/o a case which provides protection and yet gives me convenience to access to it. And Vaja made it. It might well be a rip-off but I cant possible make one myself.

You have to understand, most want to show off with the wow effect more than it being practical. For $150.00, I agree, you can buy almost 3 nice cases. I have two very nice book style PDAIR black cases from Brando that have worked out well.

Would agree not to buy it if you usually use tablet mode...

I am not one to swich my pda to the next great thing as soon as it is available, so to me it is worth buying a great quality product to protect the one I have.... my nx70v and I will be together for years.

It does not add much bulk.

And the craftmanship is superb.

CMC, email mode should be fine but u can always take at highest resolution, then only resize them, and compress them in photoshop, paint shop pro, or whatever imaging programs... then upload them to the server one by one. The max size in the forums is 800x600... but 640x480 is just fine!

I looked at the I-Volution case when I had my NR and the cost to function ratio just didn't compute. I opted for the Vaja flip top with a belt clip and have been really satisfied with it.

It even works for my NX (although the reset hole and speaker opening don't align -- but the speaker is actually louder with the bounceback from the case!).

...Just my 2 cents

I live in Portland Oregon as well. Would it be possible to get a look at your case? I am looking to get one but would really like to see it before plunking down that much money.

Thanks
