Possibly.

The ROM on the NX70 is flashable as I am told, so technically it CAN be done. But, it's up to Sony if they will release upgrades and all that jazz to make it work.

I personally think they won't, based off of what they've done in the past, but eh, could be wrong.

You'll have to wait for it to come out.

I really don't think we will see a os5 to os6 upgrade. That is a fairly major upgrade. I suspect we would more easily see an upgrade to os 5.2 to hopefully allow us more ram.
Although I seriously doubt we will see either.

Right! You definitely won't see an upgrade to OS6 as its about 6 or months away, and it may require the newer PXA250 processor. Even the two new NX Clies aren't even OS5.2 :(

Do a search before you get flamed. Many, MANY, threads on this subject. In a word, the answer to your question is "NO". Sony absolutly blows for customer service, and has only offered 1 handheld upgrade ever (wich you had to pay a hefty sum for btw).

This topic seem to pop up every few weeks, why don't people use the search function first before they ask?

It seems that some of the newer TG50's, no longer have flashable ROM, so no upgrades there.

(and yes, I ask this every time this question comes up because nobody ever answers me!)

i hear that you can multitask with os 6... so thats a reason i would want to upgrade to os 6 from my nx70v os5... i think multi tasking is kool and saves time also

Why on earth would we want to multitask? So we can have the same buggy problems that Pocket PC users have?

One of the most attractive things about the Palm OS to me is the ability to "hotswitch" between apps and return to the previous one in the same state it was in when you left it. In reality, we are multitasking, because we can switch back and forth as often as you please between two "open" apps. We can even play mp3 files in the background while we're doing it.

Maybe there are some applications for this that I'm missing (like having something crunch numbers in the background while you work on something else), but I'm not seeing it.

Simplicity. It's why I don't have a PPC. I can't imagine the problems developers would have in that environment . . . ;)

yeah i guess in a way we do multi task.. what i was referring to was ... have you ever had to move 120 mb or 130mb files from the memstick to cf card (for what ever reason..i do mostly for movies )...and it gets real crappy waiting for the move to end.. i'd like it if i could move the stuff and while its being moved play a game or read the enews etc...

WOW! Maybe you need a card reader? ;)
