OK...
I finally got my NR70 (unfortunatley... no camera :( ... oh well) I have a couple questions though.
1. On the NX series Palms, you can Hide the Silk Grafitti Pad... There is a down arrow on my status bar, but it is glazed over... can I hide my grafitti bar? I really want to.
.
2.Is there a way to update the OS from 4.1 to 5? I cannot find it on Palm's website.
.
3. (no one kill me please) Is there a way to use linus instead of the Plam OS on the NR series... I have seen Linux installed on Pocket PCs, but never Palms... thanks for all of your help...
.
Question 1 & 2 are most important to me... thanks

1. The NR grafitti area is able to be hidden, but it requires applications that support the hidden area such as Datebk5, or ShadowPlan. There are many others, those are just a couple examples. A few of our more technically inclined folk around here have actually extracted the NX series Datebook, Address, Todo, and MemoPad applications and installed them on their NR series. You can visit this thread (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1140) for details on that.
2. There is no way to upgrade to OS5 as it requires a totally different platform than the NR uses.
3. No way to use Linux either, this is common to all Palm OS devices.

sigh...i don't know if it's just me, but for me it seems hard to understand how any person who knows wat a palm is doesn't know that old os4 devices can't be upgrade to 5, and probably at least a coupel times a month there's a thread asking about it

Not everyone pays attention to the technical details. I know people who don't know how many megahertz the Visor Deluxe is... I don't really expect them to. We are the power users, we are the exception. PalmOS5 is just a number above PalmOS4... to someone just getting into things, it may seem like going from Windows95 to Windows98. I'm not justifying anything, I'm just saying that I understand why people don't know.

Maybe the first time anyone loads cliesource, we should put a notice that says "Palm OS4 devices ARE NOT upgradeable to OS5."
Why doesn't Cliesource have a tutorial section for people? Like for "how to put mp3's on my memory stick" and "how to convert videos with kinoma" and "How to rip dvd's" and "How to view video from my nx" as well as a comphrensive list of folders of where to put your stuff.
