I know that details are pretty sketchy, but I thought I'd ask. Is it clear whether the new Cliés will use the new Intel PXA255 processors? If they will, it would improve battery life dramatically, which was one of the most important issues on the previous NX70.
Also, will they include bluetooth this time? Or do I still have to get myself a separate expensive card for that.

It looks as though the European models with have Bluetooth, so the US version probably will.
Not sure on the processors, though.:)

If the Euro/US models have Bluetooth, where will they integrate the Bluetooth indicator? Does this mean that the price point will be more expensive than it should be? That would suck.

There is a lot more thread discussions in the general forum about the new NX's.
I thought I saw a different processor a PXA263 or something.

Yes, the Japanese models use a PXA263 which has 32 MB ROM included in the actual chip to save space in the unit itself. It is clocked in at 200 MHz with a 100 MHz bus data transfer rate. It is the exact equivalent to the PXA250 at 200 MHz. It's a shame they didn't use the PXA255 at 400 MHz.

Not exact equivalent. It is as powerhungry as the PXA255 which means it will draw less power than the NX70/60 which uses the older more powerhungry PXA250 CPU.

And this is what I wanted to know. I hesitated to buy the NX70, since it consumed way too much electricity with its camera and all. Hopefully, this new processor will do the job.

Huh? My NX isn't that power hungry, no worse than my NR70, the camera isn't bad. It's true that the WiFi uses a lot of battery power. Now on the NZ90, the camera uses a lot of power, mostly due to the strobe flash!

The new Clies are rated for a longer battery life. The NX60/70's are rated for 10 days while the new NX's are rated at 14 days. I think that is with 30 min per day with backlight on minimum, but the new Clies should last a bit longer.

Hi Cameron!
Right, but I also thought the battery was suppose to be bigger too. Hence the slightly smaller size than the NX70, but I believe the NX80 will be a tad heavier. I wasn't sure if someone was confused with the NZ.

I followed the link on PalmInfoCenter.com to Intel's website on the PXA263, and it looks to me like it has bluetooth built in to the processor! scroll down to the table at the bottom of this page (http://www.intel.com/design/pca/prodbref/251671.htm) and look at the second to last row. BLUETOOTH!!!!! Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (hope not *crosses fingers*), or give me an award if I am right:D .

You are right, somewhat. But I think it just means that there is a Bluetooth controller built into the chip. Which would mean adding Bluetooth would be much simplier since they could probably add it without modifying the motherboard. That would make sense if the rumors are true that they will add Bluetooth to the Euro and possibly US devices.

That makes sense, a Bluetooth controller. Right now I can't get to enthused about it. Sony could try and milk it with the BTMS. Additionally all we can do is just speculate until Sony makes further announcements. My NX70 works just fine, so the new offerings don't have much appeal. What does spark my interest is what Sony hasn't released yet, but has hinted at :)
