I did a search for the infrared transmitter range and it only came up with 9 results, maybe only 2 of which just said it was poor or it just sucked.
Does anyone have a quantatative assessment of the transmitter range for the remote function on the NX series?

Not sure exact ranges, but my TV is probably 15-20 feet from my couch and it works no problem. Never tried to get it to work futher away.

I'm about the same, 15-20 feet, but it seems to be a very focused beam. It's highly picky about direction. I need to be pointed right at the screen for it to work - with no obstructions.

If you want to beam data, then it goes about 3-4 feet, but if you use the RMC app, you can get like 20 feet.

You are talking about beaming data to a PDA with not as good IR port. When beaming between 2 PDA's, the PDA with the worse IR port determines the range.

about 3.5 feet in a dark room is the max my NX70 will go when beaming to my NX60.

Rick, there are three LEDs behind the plastic. Two do data, one does RMC stuff. I think that the T series has only two LEDs, but uses them both for data and RMC.

I was once in a wide open room, and controlled a tv from about 25 - 30 ft!!

air temperature affects infrared performace. I have to be super close to my friend to beam data via infrared. While control TV...works great.

Oh! I thought the IR port was just higher powered.

one of the little problems i found, and i am not sure if it varies on units, but If I have the case opened all the way, it blocks the IR. I have to just nudge the case a little closed. Kinda bothersome

I get about 5 feet and it has to be dead on to one of my Sony TV's. With the stock TV remote I can get an easily 30 feet before I would have to go through the outside wall.
