View Full Version : ADPCM Alarm Sounds

I noticed that my alarm sounds came in two flavors: MIDI and ADPCM. Without getting too technical, MIDI sounds use the built-in FM-synthesizer of the clie, while ADPCM sounds are similar to Windows' wave sounds.

I can check out these sound clips using the Sound Utility app. My problem is I can't see the ADPCM sounds when choosing what alarm sound to use on apps like Agendus or Bonsai.

Any suggestions?

Stay cool, dudes.

Only the built-in apps and AFAIK DateBk5 are able to play PCM Sounds.

Other apps with alarms can only play the sounds that are stored in the systemMIDI file.

My advice is to contact the programmers of both Agendus and Bonsai and ask them to make their products capable. I did this with both Datebk4 and aAlarm. I have a request in at BugMe! too.

Did anyone have any positive reply from the developers about this issue ?

The following thread also covers the same problem.

I think it should be solved as quick as possible by the developers of these apps.
