How do i do this? Is there an equivalent to ImageConverter for the mac? Is there any free (legal) way?

I think kinoma makes software for the mac for doing this.

Yeah, but the demo only lasts 2 weeks and only encodes the first 15sec of video, and i dont really want to pay 30$ for something PC users do for free (image converter)
