Are there any good websites or discussions that show how to run these? Also I have no problem running many of my programs such as palm reader and docs. to go and others on my MS already, so do I need Powerrun?

There is no specific sites for JackFlash and/or PowerRun, to my knowledge. Both are sooooo simple to use, not much material to make a specific site.
Advantage of JackFlash is obvious.
Regarding Powerun, the main advantage is that it move ALL files (preference, data,...) related to an application on the MS. More important, the shortcuts created by PowerRun keep the same creator ID as the original apps, means even when moved to the card the apps will hot sync ! Most applications move on the card with the launcher won't sync.

hmm. so does that mean the preferences that i set up for a ebook in palm reader will be made on the MS instead of placed on the Clie?

JackFlash and PowerRun are both used to free up RAM.
Both applications are very easy to use and come with documentation.
There are many thread discussuions on the above two apps.
JackFlash installs read only apps in Flash ROM. You need the two files, JackFlash and Jack Enable. Jack Enable goes on the MS so you can restore the Flash ROM after a hard reset. The operating system hides the Flash Rom after a hard reset. JackFlash moves apps and read only databases into Flash ROM. It also removes them too if need be. Drivers and system updates should stay in RAM.
PowerRun runs from and stores apps to the MS. PowerRun moves both the app and it's associated files to the MS. When you tap on an apps Icon, it copies the app and it's associated files to RAM and runs the program. When your done, everything is copied back, plus any databases are updated at the same time before it's stored on the MS again.
PowerRun allows some apps to HotSync from the memory stick.
Any apps that have no associated files, can be run directly from the Palm-Launcher folder.
I had to write this twice as my cable modem went offline.

I use both JackFlash and PowerRun. Each have their own functions..... N2ifp said it best.

Detailed explanations from n2ifp !
Jack Enable is not really need, on my NX70 at least. I have moved JackFlash to the MS (I use Zlauncher...). In case of hard reset (flash disabled then), I just run JackFlash once : flash is enabled again...
Also after a hard reset all the PowerRun shortcuts need to be enabled / regenerated again : there is a menu in PowerRun 1.2 to do just that in seconds.
I use the CF driver from Eruware so I had few cases of hard reset (mostly out of office) : MS backup, JackFlash and PowerRun are just the applications needed to keep you out of problem. With those, you up and running in less than a minute after a hard reset.

PalmReader is a good example as... it does NOT work well with PowerRun : if you move PalmReader to the MS with PowerRun, when you launch PalmReader you'll end-up in your ebook where you were when you moved PalmReader (follow me ?). That's my experience at least.
In case of PalmReader I just moved it from the launcher, therefore the prefs and other PalmReader related files stay in RAM. But they are small anyway. Only my ebooks are on MS, actually on my CF card since I use Eruware driver. BTW, PalmReader is multivolume compatible and will find all ebooks on both the MS and the CF !
Major advantage of PowerRun is to be compatible with NetFront : that's 2.7 mb of freed RAM in my case... I had bad experience with DocToGo.

I just wanted to comment about Net Front and PowerRun. I have never been able to get NetFront to work properly after moving it to MS with Powerrun. Whenever I tried to run it, I'd get some insufficient memory error, and this was back even when I had 9-10 Megs free in RAM. I've used Jackflash to put it in flash, and have not had a problem.
Has anyone else had trouble with the PowerRun/NetFront combination?

To use Palmreader with PowerRun, go to edit and select move app only from the PowerRun menu. This keeps the prefs and other palmreader databases in RAM.
Then you can launch Palmreader from the memory stick using PowerRun.

No problem with PowerRun and NetFront on my NX70V / Japanese version.

Oh right ! Never used that option before as I did not see the point. I also had a prolem with Wolrdmate. Now moving only the app prevent problems and keeps the app to sync ! Great...
Thanks

can you load palm reader and jackflash without deleting apps that already on a ms?

The app you want to move to flash need to be in RAM to be recognized by JackFlash.
Same for PowerRun, I think : move first your apps from your MS back to RAM, then "move" them to MS with PowerRun.
There is limited interest in moving PalmReader with PowerRun as the ebook are on the MS generally. Just move (or install) PalmReader alone on the MS. Only PalmReader related files will stay in RAM, but they are small anyway.

I have a primer for JackSprat/Flash on my website, as well as a discussion of memory card usage which includes a brief paragraph on PowerRun. Folks here have given much more detail on PowerRun than I have on my site, but my JackSprat/Flash primer is pretty detailed.
