Free Sony Case Proves I'm a Simpleton!

After 4 weeks of waiting for my Free Leather Sony Clie SJ-20 case (I was impressed, thought for sure it would take the full 8 weeks)it arrived yesterday in the mailbox.

Now.. during this four week wait I have been drooling over the DSI case pictures and conversations here at cliesource.com and knew for sure when the Free Sony case arrived I'd be disappointed in it and stuff it in a drawer somewhere or at best use it until I could afford to get the DSI case like I really wanted.

Okay, this is the part where people start questioning my sanity and capacity to offer valuable insights and comments here at cliesource.com --->

I really love the free Sony case I got yesterday. It's a nice black leather that my Clie fits nice and snug in and I'm plesed as punch.

My new dilema: Now how am I gunna convince the wife to let me buy the DSI case when its obvious I'm so happy with the free one that I just got.

Enjoy the free one for a while before making an attempt for the other. As you said yourself, you like the free one-so enjoy it! After awhile, if you still want the other, then get it. At least you will have gotten a few miles out of the free one. Or, if all else fails, throw the free one out, tell your wife you lost it and now need to buy one.

1. Divorcing your wife will cost a lot more than 10 new cases! :D
2. Lying to her will lead to # 1, and besides lying builds bad character! :)
3. Use the free one a while. You will learn over time whether you really like using a case or not. I carried my old PDA (Prism) on my hip in a case a long time. One of the things I love about the T665C form factor is that it travels very nicely "naked" in my front pants pocket! ;)

As I'm sure you probably know, the part about lying to his wife was said tongue in cheek. I just wanted to make that clear.

Tell your wife you plan on getting a Clié NZ90. Show her the price tag and she'll say "WHAT?! ARE YOU NUTS?!" Then act dissappointed and say, "O.k. I'll just get a new case for my SJ20. It only costs 1/20th as much." She'll think she won and you get the case you want.

Actually a good strategy. If you also add a 1gb MS to the equation, you can get me my golf clubs too.:D

It's real easy. All you have to do is say, look woman, I'm earning the money around here and this is what I'm going to do, so get a job so I can stop working or pipe down.

I just had to have the NR70 when it came out.  The problem was there were NO cases available.  After weeks of searching, I finally found one on eBay by Digital Express for $50.  I figured I'd just use it until the really nice cases came out on DirectCase or Vaja or EBCases, etc.

Well, I'm still using the Digital Express case and wouldn't trade it for any of the others.  It fits like a glove, has protected my beloved from TWO drops on the floor, and meets my needs.

If you like the Sony case, use it and forget all the others.

You could try looking really cute and pathetic when she's in a good mood.
Or you could explain that you really want the other case even though you don't need it. If she still looks at you funny and criticizes your judgement, you can make a bargain and let her buy something in the same price range that she doesn't need but wants anyhow (like another pair of shoes or pants :) )

Actually, I do understand wanting two cases. I have a Sena and a DSI. However, I suppose the reason I have two is because neither one is "perfect." There are different situations where one is more useful than the other.
