No kidding...there is a noticeable speed increase, even on an NX. I also like the icon better. No more pic of "Mary".

I used the older version and I liked it. However, how is it comparing to the Sony one in ROM?

One question: Since the Sony Viewer is in ROM, you can't really delete it so Splash Photo would eating up more memory, right?

IMHO SplashPhoto beats all others cold.
I use it in my work, to show photos of areas civil folk would not dare tread.
I love the enhancements from just the last release until this one.
SplashPhoto is simply the very best out there!!!

There is a noticable speed increase. Unfortunately, the new hi-res thumbnail feature is only usable with newly generated thumbnails (thus, unless you reinstall ALL of your old pictures, you'll still have low-res thumbs). Nothing serious, but something that could be improved.

Not really, I run it from my memory stick as well as most of my other 100+ apps. I still have 6 megabytes free in RAM. The Sony viewer is just plain horrible, when it comes to viewing, as it takes forever for thumbs to load, and load, and load, and load...

You do have to move SplashPhoto to RAM when you want to use the desktop to transfer more images. They won't transfer if SP is on MS, unless they changed that with this version.

In the previous version of Splashphoto, her picture was the icon. In the latest version, there is a new icon, but her picture is one of the sample pictures labeled...Mary. That's how I knew her name.

I don't use the desktop portion and I usually use MS Import to move files to the PC. I agree though if one needs to convert and HotSync them.
The whole point is, that I can shoot a whole lot of pics and don't have to wait all year to view them. A major shortcoming in Clie Viewer.
Acid Image is still my favorite for viewing. So now it becomes multiple choice for viewers:).

I've gotten too old to look or care anymore. A sleek Clie has much more sex appeal:)! Besides, if it gives me any static, I can shut it off...

I also tried splashphoto. The speed is impressive, but it hang my nx70v at least 4 times last night when I change image category. In my experience, when I change the categories of 10-20 images from unfiled to XXX(in chinese char.) it usually hang nx70v. If I do not change too many images' category, it is ok.
Although splashphoto hang my nx70v so many times, I still think it is good for viewing images. If it can sort my images according to portrait/ landscape(vertical/horizontal), it will be better for me.

Are you using any kind of Chinese character program? I've heard that that CJKOS (or something similar to that) causes a lot of problems with different software. Try disabling that, if you do. SplashPhoto works perfectly for me. Never crashed once.

I use palm dragon which provides a chinese environment on nx70v (www.pd.com.tw). It's a beta 4 version for nx70v. I agree with you that it might cause problem on splashphoto. But pd is still useful for chinese user. So I will not disable it. Anyway, thank you for your information.
I tried splashphto yesterday and found that sometimes splashphoto show images very fast (within 0.5 sec.), but sometimes it takes splashphoto about 1-2 sec to show next image. Is there anyone have the same observation? Do you know why. thanks!
I also tried acidimage yesterday, it's good. However, it seems that acidimage is not as fast as splashphoto at most of time. I like splashphoto. It's a good image viewer software, however, if it can support portrait/landscape (vertical/horizontal) sorting function then I will not have to turn my nx70v up/down frequently while viewing images mixed with portrait/landscape.
