Hey, I have just bought a new NX70 and now drooling all over it, but, I just found out it has 2 hot pixels which turn red when its supposed to be black. It doesnt bother me that much, but, do you think I should return it? Is it enough to ask for a replacement? I dont mind the 2 pixels since they are quite small, but, I dont want to spend $500 on a defected machine.

Thanks!

Sony I believe doesn't cover it under warranty. You may be able to convince the store to exchange it. Be firm, be calm, and don't say anything about the Sony warrranty. With bad pixels, it reduces the Clie's value, so I wouldn't hesitate to get it replaced.

I just dealt with the same problem - 1 pixel in the VG area, so very visible - although it would then disappear through the day - and a second in the top right area of the screen. I never saw the second one until I ran LCD Analyzer.

I was still within the 30day return period at Amazon and I was able to do an exchange without a hitch. I've just had the replacement a couple days, but no bad pixels yet.

You can find it here:

http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=56261720030114045639&prodID=39164

When in doubt, search PalmGear

BTW, it's freeware!
