Petition for ROM update?

Greetings:

Anyone else think we should be getting a ROM update (I'd be surprised if these units couldn't be flashed) after all these patches? By my count I'm losing 765K of RAM to just *patches*. I don't know about the rest of you, but my space is at a premium.

The following is a list of the files that have been patched in RAM (anyone who sees something I've missed or shouldn't have counted, please correct me):

This is ridiculous. If there's that many problems with the ROM we shouldn't be penalized by giving up RAM to fix it.

Sony is releasing a ROM Update soon. It is called the NX73 or NX80

Thank goodness for JackFlash. Even the new Clies are still using OS5.0.

rhart00: Where did you get that information on the new ROM updates? I haven't seen anything from Sony themselves on the subject.

I don't know why Sony don't just include something like JackFash/Powerrun as part of the standard Clie software offering - surely they must see a good thing soon

It's a nice pricey ROM update, but that's what Sony has been doing all along.

im in - its so easy for them to make such a rom update - it will make our NX's tidy and their support like free

Besides- when we pay over 400 dollars for a product- SONY should listen to us... Its not that much to do for us...

I'll sign my name here for a ROM update but it has about a zero percent chance of happening. Sony wants you to buy a new clie, not give you an excuse to keep the one you have. Especially since it's being discontinued.

How about we also petition for some more updates to the apps? For example, updating the AudioPlayer app to play VBR MP3s and making better use of the scroll wheel.

Well, I asked the same question of Sony's tech support, and right on cue the idiots reply "you can download our patches at. . ." I sent back a nasty response so we'll see if they actually *read* the freaking e-mail and answer the bloody questions. . .
