I had to hardset my SJ33 yesterday as SOME application
was causing a fatal error and I couldn't get past it.

When I reconnected to my PC my Clie re-synced, with the
bad software, and continued to give me the "fatal error".

So after another hard reset I re-connected under another
device name and all was well ... kind of.

Some of the software that I've purchase was with codes
as per my old device name, X. Since my Clie is now called
Y, I'm guessing that this s/w won't install ( obviously, I
haven't tried yet).

Is there a way to delete device name X in Intellisync Lite
so that I can re-add it ( hopefully with no bad s/w to
restore ) so that I can re-install my old s/w under device
name X?

Thanks in advance.

I assume that you installed Palm Desktop for CLIE and Intellistink Lite so you can synchronize the CLIE with Outlook. You then should have the shortcut icons for both apps on your PC desktop screen ('Palm Desktop for CLIE' and 'Intellistink Configure'). Here is how I select which username to be used by Intellistink to synchronize with your CLIE:
1. Double click on the 'Intellistink Configure' icon to bring up 'Registration' window for the Intellistink.
2. Click on 'Register Later' button to bring up 'Users' window.
3. In the 'Users' window you will see several usernames like the 'X' and 'Y' you have just created. Point the mouse to the one you want ('X') and click on it, 'X' will be highlighted.
4. Click 'OK' button to bring up Intellistink - 'X' Configuration window.
5. Put a check mark on 'Address Book', click OK, wait until double pointed arrow appear between the 'Address Book' and 'MS Outlook', which indicates that the 'Address Book' will be synchronized with the Outlook 'Contacts'.
6. Repeat step 5 for 'Date Book' to synchronize with Outlook 'Calendar', 'Memo Pad' with Outlook 'Notes', and 'To Do List' with Outlook 'Task'.

If you want to delete username 'Y', here is how I would do it:
1. Double click on the 'Palm Desktop for CLIE' icon on your desktop screen to bring up the 'Palm Desktop' window.
2. On the top right corner of the window, below the min/max/closed buttons, there is a drop down 'User' box, click on the down arrow and select 'Edit Users...' to bring up 'Users' window.
3. Click on 'Y' and 'Delete' button to bring up 'Delete User' window.
4, Click 'Yes' for 'Delete the user name and ALL ASSOCIATED DATA of 'Y'?
That is it.
