Please excuse my ignorance when asking this but I have read the lifedrive md-cf tutorial and I want to install powerdrive and its hard for me to glean a specific step by step procedure on how to do this, so this is what I believe is the right steps/procedure. Please correct where I am wrong because I know this cannot be right.

-turn LD off and remove the back cover. Take the microdrive out and plug it into your computer. Make a copy of the microdrive using cygwin. Take out the microdrive and insert your CF Card(I'll be using a 32 gb cf card) and copy that image to your cf card.

-put the microdrive back into your LD and run powerdrive following its procedure.

-Keeping the lifedrive on and not using any metal tools swap out the MD for the CF (32 GB).

-Follow the instructions and reset and then It should read the 32gb card?

I realize that these steps are rather simplistic and would like some correction.

I don't have a lifedrive yet, but I was reading through the posts on here and I like the prospect of having a rather cheap pda with 32gb of onboard memory with SD expansion as well. I have a 32gb speedy adata card that I can use in it which I read is an acceptable card to use on with this mod.

step by step:
1. Copy powerdrive to SD card or install onto device

2. Run powerdrive, it will back up the OS from the Hard drive onto the SD card

3. It will tell you to remove hard drive and install CF card, do so, and DO NOT turn off the device when you do, if you need to know how to take apart the lifedrive I can post directions, its not difficult.

4. install the CF card, tap "ok" in powerdrive, it will then copy the OS to the CF card and allow you to create as large or as small a ram partition as you want (mine is 128 mb, for example).

5. put the device back together

6. profit??
