We just had to get a new router and the difference now is the security. The other was WEP and the new one (Cisco) is WPA2. Now I can't use the Wireless connection on my TH55. I see from a search on this forum that it was impossible. Just wonder if anyone came up with a workaround since then or if there is a change in any way?

Maybe add on a USB wifi dongle onto your computer that will work?

I don't know what a USB wifi dongle is. How would that work in relationship to my PDA?

Sorry, I just realized this TH55, not TX. Perhaps a search on the kb.palm.com that HP considerately keeps going can reveal an update for your device as well.

Well, at home I use a Bluetooth access point for my TH-55 and my Treo 680, not as fast as a Wifi connection but fine and simple to setup.

I've paid attention for years and AFAIK there has never been a way to do WPA with a TH55. But doesn't your router offer the option to simply use WEP security?

The TH55 is a Sony device. Would Palm cover Sony devices?

Are you just wanting to surf? Get another device, the Android and IPhone can also do WEP and WPA2.
Hotsyncing can be done by Bluetooth (if you have a european TH) or IR. Use a card reader to transfer stuff and I suppose saved links and pages can be viewed on a TH-55.
A USB Wifi dongle on your computer can make that computer use a separate wifi link and not compromise the standard wifi modem. I haven't tried it but a simple hotsync test could be tried.
And you could also get a separate wifii hotspot that verizon and other companies sell, still it is not worth all the trouble to use the old TH-55 for wifi surfing.

All I want to do is download weather forecasts, currencies exchange on Clock Wireless. I use my laptop to surf. I like to keep my cell phone and PDA separate items. I have so much info in my TH55 I could never get it transferred.
