Hi, I have a question for some of you here. I am an owner of an older Clie N610C (it's long since been discontinued, but I still get good use out of it), and for a while now, I've been wanting to do one major thing with my Clie, use it to keep up with my bank accounts! This seems like a pretty logical use of modern PDAs.

So here's the problems I'm having, currently I have Quicken 2003 Premiere and Pocket Quicken 2.03. My Pocket Quicken is set to grab whatever is in Quicken on a sync, this would be all fine and good except for the problems with my bank regarding Quicken. The problem is, that I'm currently with Washington Mutual, and their system is not up to par with the latest technology standards. They are still using Web Connect and not Direct Connect for their online system. In other words, in order to get an update, you have to manually log in to their site each time over https, then tell it which days to download, select the Quicken 99 or newer format, and then once that is all done you have to accept all of the transactions manually in Quicken. None of this allows me to do any of these mundane tasks automatically. How lame! Sometimes it doesn't even work right and you end up getting duplicate transactions that you have to go through and delete manually!

My questions here are not directly regarding Quicken (and please don't reply telling me to go round and round with Quicken support or with my bank that's not the issue here), my question here is has anyone been able to get automatic updates through their bank? I am debating going over to a different bank which I know supports Direct Connect (Wells Fargo). Before I make this jump I want to find out if it is worth it to do this or will I still have to do things manually from within Quicken? If so, what bank are you going through and what software(s) are you using? I would very much like to be able to just hit the sync button in the morning, and be up to date before I have to leave out each day on my account as to what the bank says I have online (maybe even going so far as to have Quicken automatically update at scheduled times like say while I'm asleep each night so then when I hit sync in the morning it's all already there). I don't think that this is out of the realm of the possible and hopefully someone here has a little experience with this and can help me out.

Microsoft Money has an option to sync to financial institutions but I haven't tried it on mine as I don't want to. You would also have to buy Ultrasoft Money to sync with Microsoft Money though.
