Currently i have a NR70V, but i'm planning to buy a NX70 because of the possibility to use CF Cards (and some other reasons). Does anybody know wether JackFlash is supporting the NX70 without problems or not?

JackFlash works great and with the NX you get around 4MB of space.

You'll need version 3.0b7 as earlier versions are not OS5 compatible. I had to pay for my upgrade (purchased the previous version > 6 months before)

Definately worth it tho', managed to free up around 3.5mb.

It will free up 4.8 MB to be exact in the USA NX model, other region models, maybe different with less, YMMV.

Try the light version first to see how much you save. The Japanese and European models may have less because of the various languages.

Before you get to psyched up about the CF issue, look around the forums here - the only CF card that seems to be supported is Sony's WiFi card. No other cards apparently work, and the official Sony line is that they will not provide drivers for the CF slot - ever - for things like the IBM Microdrive.

This makes sense from their standpoint - how can they sell memory sticks if you buy a 1G MicroDrive?

I finally got JackFlash this week, and before I used it I had 1.6MB available with the help of Powerrun. Now I have 4.1 MB, and I plan on moving some more stuff... is there any danger in filling almost all the available flash???

Nope, not that I am aware. One item though, if you take and item out of flash, let's say it is 300k in size, it may not go back in. A couple of times, I had to remove several large items out of flash before it woyld compact itself. After that all items went back in with no sweat. I figured, the Jackflash app needs a little headroom to compact the ROM and then it's okay.

I'm more interested in JackSprat.

There are several included sony apps i would like to remove from the NX.

Anyone know if jacksprat works with the NX or when a NX friendly version of jacksprat will be released?

There is no JackSpart for the NX yet... and it does not seem it will be anytime soon.

If ever. Supposedly Sony made it so the JackSprat functionality is most likely impossible and Brayer has said that most likely there will not be a JackSprat for OS5 Clies.

I don't have an NX so I'm wondering what you are taking out of the flash memory with JackFlash to free up so much space? Could someone give a list of what is safe to remove?

You can't take anything out of flash with JackFlash. You can only add apps to it. The space is already there.

Sherimj, do you want to make me insecure? I have read the posts and the pro's in the forums and i believe all those who are using the eruware driver. It seems that CF cards are working with this driver and i will try it soon.

Don't worry, Sherimj is new, and I believe he doesn't know what he's talking about. But you should still read up more on the driver as it may not work exactly as you think it might.
