Hello all,

Anyone know how to get the two connected and talking to each other?

I'd like to surf the net, send and receive email and basically at that type of stuff.

Im guessing one way would be via infrared and the other by cable?

What do i need to get either (or both) to happen?

Sorry, corrado85 - that didn't make sense. Even Sony's own Clie FAQ confirms that you can connect via an 8210 - I have used this combination regularly with my NX70V. You just need to set up a connection in the NX preferences to use modem via infrared. Use 'ATZ' as an init string. Activate infrared on the 8210 (the port is on the side - point it at the NX IR port, using tablet mode) and you can connect via web or mail (appropriately configured).

The 8210 doesn't support a cable connection BTW.

One warning aussie_nx70v - the 8210 is a basic GSM phone - maximum data speed is 9.6 Kb/s. OK-ish for mail but dead slow for browsing!

Question, what phone can get you the best bandwidth? Or does it depend on the service? I was thinking T68i would probably have the best capability, but now that I tihnk about it, I guess it depends on the carrier or service of phone (GSM or GPRS or something).

Yes, it is a combination of the phone capabilities + the operator service. But, generally: GSM=9.6 (or 14.4) Kb/s; HSCSD=43.2 Kb/s; GPRS in theory over 100 but in practise currently about 40 Kb/s. EDGE & UMTS will offer very much higher data rates.

Some wine and romantic music should do the trick.

I see. I've never heard of HSCSD, probably because it's not used in the USofA (at least not to my knowledge). Do you think (or know for that matter) EDGE and UMTS be availible in the states in the future?
