I went out at Xmass to buy my wife a new NX70.She liked it but women & electronics don't always click. To bad, ITS ALL MINE now.Anyway for the first time it had a problem.

1st yes I have the auto off set @ 2 minates.
2nd no, the hold button was not on.

My battery was topped up, started to play Bejeweled after 25minates & 38900 points my eyes started to become sleepy. I didn't shut it off, but I did close the clam shell ,and placed it on my night stand like i have done before.

Next morning at work went to turn it on .............not a thing. NO button worked, try to reset nothing.

Went home place it on the charger.......comes to life with a message :" memorymgr.c,Line5767 Heap ID not found "

Hit soft reset ...its awake. I will let it charge today & see tonight. I checked all my data ,Its' all fine nothing disappeared.

But what went wrong ??????????

I just tried to recreate your problem. I started bejeweled, closed the clamshell, and let it go to sleep. I was able to open it and turn it back on with no problem.

I think odds are you won't see this happen again, at least not on a regular basis. Sometimes there are just random little crashes that happen. Just make sure you back up your unit often to make sure if anything drastic DOES happen, you will be able to restore all of your information easily.

Yes I do back up,But just wondering if bejeweled stayed on & let the battery drain ?

That shouldn't have happened if auto-off was turned on. Did the Clie need to recharge?

Actually... it sounds to me like when the Clie tried to turn off, Bejeweled didn't like it. This caused some sort of crash "Fatal Exception" and brought up the reset box. Since you were asleep, you were not there to reset it. The reset screen stayed on all night, because auto-off doesn't do any good if the machine is locked up. The battery died, and this morning you woke up to a dead machine.

This used to happen to me when I was doing automatic backups with PiDirect enabled. The backup software would try to find the files that were in PiDirect and lock up. The unit would die because it sat on the Reset screen all night.

Well that seems to be more logical to me.If some how it locked up Since bejeweled slowly cycles between intro screen & last high score screen it maybe didn't auto off .

It may have stayed on drianing the battery slowly while I snored away.

I feel so bad neglecting my Clie, it may have called for HELP...but I had the speaker off too so not to wake up anyone...........
