All I know is JackSprat from Brayder.com.

What ROM game are you referring to, because I don't see any Clie games in my old Clie ROM?

He probably has a SJ33. Mine has Bejeweled in the FlashROM.

Hi, thanks for answering back.

Juno017, you are right. I have a SJ33/U.
I tried JackSprat but it does not seem to work on SJ33.

I've emailed Brayder support about this before and they say that their next release of JackSprat will be compatible with the SJ33. Some of us here have tried the new JackFlash on our SJ33's and we only hav 64Kb of available FlashROM. Brayder's tech support said this too: All US SJ33 only have 64Kb of available FlashROM. The 4MB that it says on the box and Sony's site is used up by built in applications. However, with our next release of JackSprat, you will be able to increase the available FlashROM by removing unwanted applications from the FlashROM.

I have an sj22, and have a related question:

My palm came w/ kinoma and a bunch of stuff i don't need in rom. So if I use jackflash (or is it jacksprat?) will i be able to delete the unneeded stuff, and use that space just like the regular flash memory (for programs, etc.)?

thanks alot

JackSprat is for backing up the original ROM and for removing unneeded apps. JackFlash is for moving apps from RAM to FlashROM or vice-versa, like a file manager.

Has anyone used JackSprat to remove unwanted apps? Please reply with difficulty level of the application (JackSprat) and how to obtain it.

JackSprat is a piece of cake to me. I removed about 1.5MB ROM app and replaced them with some useful (to me) apps. However, as mentiond previously, it is still not ready for SJ-33.

But using the application mentioned...doesn't it void your warranty?

i guess it will not. as you start jacksprat, you will be asked to back-up your original ROM (and i suggest you do this). When something go wrong (or when you just want to) just bring back the orinal ROM files from the back-up and your PDA is back to its original state. Details on the manual. Just DO NOT, repeat DO NOT delelete the launcher from the rom.

also, jacksprat works very well on t665. If sj33 is essentially the same as t665, then why does it not work there? Anyway, if you get jacksprat to work you will surely love it. I wa able to free 1MB from my t665 using this tool. Adding the 4MB the is initially available from ROM, I got a total of 5 MB free using jacksprat/jackflash :)

I have a Clie SL10. Do either JackFlash of JackSprat work on this machine? I do not know if the Sl10 has flash memory.
Thanks
