Khampa Festival has been held every four years in four adjacent regions - Diqing Tibet autonomous prefecture of Yunnan province, Yushu of Qinghai province, Qamdo prefecture of the Tibet autonomous region and the Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Sichuan province since 1984.
This year, the Sixth Khampa Festival gets underway on Sept.12th in Diqing. Visitors can see thangka paintings, black pottery, Tibetan Opera and the Guozhuang bonfire dance in the event.
Based on Napahai Lake, Songzanlin Temple, Pudacuo National Park and Dukezong Ancient City, a set of four special stamps featuring the landscape of Diqing will be released. A miniature sheet with Meili Snow Mountain also will be released.
