A while back when I was kicked out of being logged in, I noticed a spell checker. As a registered user, is the same available, if so, what's the secret??
Thanks!
The spell checker is there if you click "Post Reply" rather than typing something in the Quick Reply area. :)

Joel, I use the Opera browser and I can't use the Spell Check feature. All I get is a blank white box. Is this just something thats messed up with Opera, or is there some way to change the code to fix that?

Looks like a lot of people don't know about this feature :).

I'm an Opera user too. The Spell Check feature sadly only works with IE (and its derivatives). It's a limitation of vBulletin and not of our browser.

OK, thanks, it's something I have missed since switching from IE since I have learned to depend on MS Words spell check and now I don't spell to well. :(
cbulock,
Check these out:

Have fun!

Thanks for the links. I'll try those out. I just switched from Outlook Express to the Opera M2 mail app a few days ago, and that doesn't seem to have spell check either, so it's nice to know there are other solutions.

I'm giving Spell Catcher Plus a try right now. It has been excellent so far. Spell check in all applications with real time error correction (ie vs. ei) and you can add words to the database.

I don't see it there, I have only two buttons submit and preview. I will have to exit ClieSource and see why I only see it as unregistered. BTW, I use IE 6.0 SP1 on top of Win XP. In another post Amir reminded me of it. My biggest problem is transposing or missing characters.
I noticed you changed your name and avatar :)
Thanks!

Yep, it's there now, very interesting? I see three buttons now, Submit Preview Spell Check. I'll look at it later, it's late now.
Thanks!

Larry, do you have the WYSIWYG option enabled in your Options? Seems like I remember that if that is enabled, then the spell check was disabled.

Okay Cameron, I have to hand it to you :)! That was the culprit, turning off WYSIWYG. So far I haven't seen it make any other difference. Some of the other controls look different too, but that's okay I'll figure it out :).
Thank you for the help and Thanks go to Joel, Tixx, Chris, and oneeyesquare (LOL!) for the reply's!

no
Hey, n2ifp, I'll be your spelling checker; the word you wanted was "replies" not "reply's." :D
By the way, Joel, there are at least some non-IE browsers that can use the ClieSource spelling checker -- I'm using it very successfully with Apple's Safari browser, so it's certainly possible that the same could be true with other Windows browsers.
