View Full Version : Be wary of the SanDisk ImageMate 6-in-1 reader

Just a quick warning.... I originally bought a SanDisk 6-in-1 for my Kingston 1GB card. I couldn't get it to work. Small files tranferred fine, larger files made the reader malfunction.

I actually called SanDisk customer support, and they told me that the reader has known issues working with non-SanDisk CF cards. They advised me to return it immediately, and perhaps buy the CF/MS duo reader, which doesn't have the same issues.

Anyways, I bought a Memorex 6-in-1, and it works perfectly :D But do give their other readers a try, and let me know if they work. Their customer support rocks, btw....

Michael,

I know you had trouble and I am not questioning that.

So far neither my brother or I have had any trouble with ours.

Was yours the USB2 version with Docking Station?

Using Transcend 1gi card. Mine had trouble at first til I downloaded the latest drivers and did the recommended uninstall (into and deleting registry keys). It has settled down since then. Almost took it back except for that crappy blowmolded packaging that takes a chainsaw, crowbar and torch to get the stupid product out.

Oh, I hate that darned blister packaging almost as much as I hate NetFront

I got the Spell Check Button, but it doesn't do anything:(

I just purchased the SanDisk 6-in-1 Thursday. So far, no problems reading and writing (USB 2.0) to Kingston 256mb CF, Simpletech 256mb CF, and Lexar 128mb MS.

i thought my clie nx60 had a rom glitch...anything formatted on the clie was not readable with the above mentioned usb 2 reader.

then i reverted to the old usb 1 and found that everything worked fine.

as anticipated sony's tech support was horrid. i was told by a "floor supervisor" that the nx 60 dfoes not have audio capabilities.

I too have bought this 6 in 1 reader (USB2) and have found that I can't use either of my FujiFilm 64Mb CF cards in it.

The 256Mb Viking card and 16Mb Sandisk/Nikon card work well though.

I emailed Sandisk several days ago but have had no reply.
