View Full Version : Clock on my NR70 gaining time...

Almost once a week I have to reset the clock on my NR70 because it gains times, usually about 10 minutes or so by the time I realize it (an alarm goes off "early" is usually when I realize it). Anybody else have this? Any ideas as to why?

Thanks!
Mark

Use one of the many programs to sync your Clie clock with your PC clock.
TimeCopy is one, there is a built in option in BackupBuddy(desktop). Do a search on www.palmgear.com

Thanks...I'll look into it. BTW, any idea why the clock would do this? I don't recall it happening during the first few months I had it, just in the last couple months or so.

I do know that with certain "skins" ie in the status bar area, that the clock tends to freeze. Keep in mind that on both the PC and the PDA, I would venture to say that the clock is the weakest feature of both. I've noticed that till I synced my PC with an atomic clock that my PC clock on any computer I've owned was never very accurate.

Are you using any overclocking programs like AfterBurner or FastCpu?

No overclocking apps.

I do have NR Buttons loaded and some VG skins...could those have any effect, per Alan's comment?

I can't help you with the cause. Like shrink, I use timecopy (freeware) and keep my PC in sync with atomic time. Timecopy won't tell you what is causing the time drift, but it does give you statistics about exactly how much drift you have and keeps you Clie in sync with your PC clock.

Thanks...I'll definitely try Timecopy.

I use WorldMate (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=75605620030109120040&prodID=1342) to sync my Clie and PC with Atomic clock. No more worry about the time being off from then on.

It also has useful travel information like The Weather Channel (TWC) anywhere in the world, world clock+alarm, currency exchange rate, unit conversions, phone country codes, international clothing sizes, and travel packing list.

I use TWC the most. Actually that was the main reason I bought it. The rest options are just nice to have.

I've also had clock problems. Sometimes its way off, even the date suddenly wrong. Don't know how to troubleshoot this.

Sometimes my VG area clock has failed to update, but i have used for months without having to adjust it...
