Hi, I have some questions regarding the care and feeding of PowerSDHC. Now, although Dmitry is my hero, he has no patience with stupid questions from morons like me, so this question is not directed to him.

I installed it long ago but never got around to getting a SDHC card until recently. I now have a 16GB SDHC class 6 card installed. I use a Palm TX and the status bar at the bottom of the screen has been modified by MySkin. When I tap the clock in the status bar, it does not show the correct amount of free memory on the SDHC card. Card Info does not show the correct amount of free space on the card. FileZ does not show the correct amount of free space on the card. When downloading podcasts to the card using Pocket Tunes, I get a message notifying me of low space on the card even though there is plenty of free space and the program downloads the podcast without trouble.

Before I got the SDHC card, whenever the TX was reset, it would show the normal startup screens, skip past the preferences screen and end up by going to the card category. Now, with the SDHC card in, it stops at the preferences screen like it did before I installed PowerSDHC.

Does PowerSDHC allow the TX to use an SDHC card without telling the OS the correct space on the card? Should the TX be reporting the correct amount of free space to the installed apps?

Thanks for any help any of you guys might care to offer.

Fred.

From Dmitry's site - http://www.palmpowerups.com/readarticle.php?article_id=11

"Another caveat, which is well known to our customers who purchase PowerDrive, is that PalmOS cannot display card sizes over 4GB or free space over 4GB. This does not mean it cannot use them, just that the display of card size and free space will be wrong. You WILL be able to use the WHOLE card size! This is usually just a cosmetic error, and will usually not cause errors or problems. A workaround for this is available in form of the free "CardSize" application available in the "Experimental" section of this site's "Download" page."

I am under the impression that when adding music via pocket tunes might not be the best way to add more music. Use a card reader and bypass all those messages that the card is full. Your computer should be a better judge of when the card is full.
