It is NOT required to use Mocha PPP or ICS to get this working.
I just bought 2 BT dongles (one for desktop, one for laptop) yesterday and have internet working on my TG50 today.
All I did was setup a BT serial connection, create a "virtual" modem/cable connection that uses that serial port. Then I created a new network connection (Control Panel) that accepts incomming connections from that cable connection. You can modify the connections parameters (like let PDA's connect w/o authentication) in the properties of that newly created "Incomming Connection".
That was done on my Win2k Pro box (Win XP is the same).
Then, on the TG50, I created a connection to PC using BT. Then I created a network connection and set a static ip and DNS (you can set this up to use DHCP as well, I chose not to).
I can now surf the net from the TG50 and hotsync via BT.

I agree, I bought a donge from IOGEAR and had internet working fine. On my TG50. The only thing that I cannot do is send email from the palm using Yahoo's SMTP Server. Im looking for a solution for that :)

Has anyone successfully setup MochaPPP using an MS Internet Connection sharing client as the PPP host?
I have a Microsoft MN-500 Wireless Base Station that my notebook connects to via 802.11b. I *think* the Base Station client uses MS's ICS to enable the 802.11b connection. I have only a BT PC Card for the notebook. I've tried every conceivable troubleshooting tip to get my Clie TG50 to attach to the notebook via MochaPPP and nothing seems to work. I keep getting a PPP timeout error. I get this with HotSync both enabled and disabled.
I've verified my BT's working just fine, as I can HotSync via BT with no problems whatsoever. I can also connect wirelessly via my Sony T68i with no problems.
Anyone out there using a similar config?

Hehe, you're welcome. I use SendMail myself (smaller footprint), but whatever works is good imo.

Baseb, can you post more details on how to do this? I've tried a few combinations but no success although I did get the mochappp to work without any issues. Keep getting PPP timeout, this on an XP machine though.
Neil.
