Help, please...

Every time I try to go to the Network PReferences my Clie NX70V crashes with a Fatal Alert dialog box, stating:

DataMgr.c, Line:3718, Null dbH
passed

I think I must have deleted something I shouldn't have after I returned a CF WiFi card (it just seemed too slow and not worth it at the time). But I want to be able to use my dialup IP accunt via my IR cell phone, like I used to with a Palm m515, so I need to be able to get into the Network Preferences.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Bob

You need to do a hard reset to clear out the WL100 driver as it's locked by the Clies operating system and you probably only deleted a part of it. The Sony manual for the WL100, I think mentions that a hard reset is the only way to dlelete the driver. Backup your Clie first using MS Back up.

Well, I tried the hard reset, and that worked... untir I restored my files. So apparently there's a preference file that's corrupt. Any idea which file(s) that might be?

Thanks!

You have two choices, saved or unsaved preferences. Either one can bring down the house. Unless you have a known good backup, you'll have to probably reinstall everything from scratch.

:) Success! :)

I used BackupBuddy VFS to create a backup on my Memory Stick, then with McFile I deleted all "Network" files, did a hard reset, restored, and it seems to be working now.

Thanks for your help!
