Can you assign the hard buttons so that they do nothing when you press or tap them? I have a bad habit of touching the hotsync pad (star pad) accidentally, and it takes you out of the app you were in, which can get aggrevating if you were working on a data- type app and you lose you edits.

Maybe an app that doesn't do anything or the Find feature?

thx

Mine is a Tungsten E

Usually when you go to Prefs pressing the button feature you can select any app for that button to be. All of the options are going to change/switch you unless you make the app assigned to the app you are using.

I suppose someone can write an app to make the button not do anything. However I would think the "home " button at least needs to be present.

Thanks Dmitry, I'll try the NOP.
Phil,
You'd have to reset the hard buttons every time you want to launch an app, because I will pop out of just about anything that is running. Unfortunately, Palm does not allow you to access the find feature except from the find pad. Dmitry's suggeston seems best.

thx

Yes, I tried it and it works well. Whatever app I'm using, when I press the hotsync pad, the screen will flash, and return to the application exactly where you were.

thanks!
