What do ya'll think? I had charged My Precious, but it only showed half charged. Hot synced, no problem. Start working on it and it flashed on and off several times. Tried plugging in - still flashed on/off. Took out battery and put back in -- then it was nada. No powering up at all. I haven't opened it up since I'm not sure what I'd be looking for.
Is it a gone-er?

If you removed the battery and it does nothing you should wait some hours with the battery removed in order to fully discharge the RAM, it seems that the TH55 memory gets corrupted and needs to completly discharged. This happened to me twice when removing the battery. One time PalmOS was unable to start and the other I got only weird things on display.
The other point is if your battery is more than three years old may be it reached its end of life and should be replaced.

Thanks El Maquinas, I did as you suggested and was patient. Left it without battery for 4 days, then charged back up. At that point I could see that the original programming was still there (yeah!) but no light.
So I packed it off to Dan, Dan the fix-it Man and voila! He checked it over and put in a new back-light (and replaced my broken battery cover as well) and sent it back pronto. Thanks again Dan!
It took all night to reload it properly (Back-up Buddy has not worked the last couple of crashes!) But now it is all spanky clean and I'm playing crosswords again (and doing spreadsheets and junk.)
I haven't any interest in these "smart phones" like many on this board. Plus I've so much invested in the Palm OS! Don't know what it would cost me to move over to another platform.
