So what is it? A new OS or just a skin?

Sorry - I was responding to a spam message which has since been deleted!

The question was: is this a new OS or just a skin?

i guess 'TealOS' is just a launcher... but it does a great job of simulating the new Palm WebOS on a PalmOS device.

ive had it running on my Treo 680 and Centro for a while now, and with all the talk of Lite operating systems for Netbooks i thought WebOS (TealOS) would be a great match for the UX50.

Its hard to explain how it works, but basically its a clone of Palms new WebOS, but with static cards... infact its a good enough clone to make Palm tell Teal to stop making it available for download and purchase, so you 'cant' get it anymore.

Monkeyboy, let me know you're interested...

I'm definitely interested, but I have retired my UX after many years of sterling service. Much as I miss my UX, the time has come to stick with my iPhone....

i understand! my UX has been on the shelf for the best part of 12 months. i stumbled across it when tidying up one day a couple of weeks back and havent been able to let go of it since (figuratively).

ive got Opera working great, now if i can just get Kinoma streaming Youtube and my TV from home via Orb i'll be set to breathe new life into this little Personal Entertainment Organiser ;-)

I thought they stopped development on TealOS, regrettably. TealOS is a launcher with the look and feel of Palm's WebOS. Of course, none of the under the hood stuff can be incorporated, but it looks almost as if you have a new OS on your old Palm!

I was disappointed when development stopped. It works amazingly well on my LifeDrive! I will head over to teal and see if maybe the resurrected TealOS!

I'm pretty sure you're right... Palm put a hault to TealOS pretty quickly. I made sure i got a copy before it was removed from distribution.
