CF Hosing Up My Voice Recording Playback

I have not seen this problem in a post yet.

I went to playback something from the voicerecorder and it told me that the format of the file was invalid or some such nonsense. I thought that maybe the files were corrupt so I deleted them and copied them back from a backup. I tried to play them again and still had the same problem. My CF card was in the slot and mounted but not my primary external media. I unmounted it (this was just dumb luck) and went back to the voicerecorder and VIOLA, the files would play.

It looks like when a CF card is mounted it interfears with the playback of the voicerecorder.

The problem here is that Voice Recorder is not multi-volume aware. It gets confused if the last volume enumerated by it is not an MS (or the CF pretending to be an MS). To solve this problem, go to the CF utility, unmount the card (or pop it out if your in auto-mount mode), pop out the MS, mount the CF card and then mount the MS. Your problem should be solved.
