I recently converted to ZLauncher from LauncherX.
LauncherX was nice, but the total lack of updates and weak 3rd party support (skins) made me start looking elsewhere.
I tried ZLauncher and quickly realized that I made a big mistake registering LauncherX in the first place.
ZL is totally 3D, colorful, stylish, ridiculously customizable and fast.
It does, however, consume a TON more memory than LauncherX, but with JackFlash and PowerRun (this is on an NX), this is somewhat mitigated.
I'm sold on ZLauncher....

Being able to test it for 30 days AND being able to ULTRA-customize my NX... I WAS SOLD on it too.
Eh, for the price I can forgive its SIZE, esp with EVERYTHING it can do and everything it WILL in future updates...

I am thinking about downloading this weekend. It has gotten alot of good reviews. Exacty how much space does it require?
I just purchased a MS and I don't like the way my T615 launcher deals with the MS. From what I have been reading Zlauncher will make using programs on the stick much easier.
TIA

With the launcher a skin and a background powerrun lists zlauncher as 1.3MB.
On mine
333K for actual launcher
244k for skin
300K for background
473K for database
several other 1K files it uses.
You can save 300K if you don't use a background.
You have to have a skin
Database is dependant on the number of programs zlauncher sees. (Stores category and whatnot information)

That's exactly why I purchased ZL, otherwise I'd still be using the free CRS-Launcher. But I maxed out my internal memory. I'm still deciding how to handle everything with the MS, but this appears to be the way to go.

In ZLauncher, go to the MS category. That shows you what's in Palm/Launcher. Tap and hold on the program icon for what you want...then select "short cut" and it makes a short cut for that program in the "unfiled" category in the launcher.

You used to have to do that, but that was a LONG time ago, on v2.x I believe.
Files that are in the /Palm/Launcher folder will display in any tab without making shortcuts. If you have the 'Auto sync /Palm/Launcher' option checked in ZL Preferences, it will make them available automatically, but it will also cause a big speed hit, so I wouldn't do this. Alternatively, you can just choose Menu-Options-Refresh apps, and all of those apps in the Launcher folder will show up in your Unfiled tab.
Shortcuts are useful if you want the ability to display and launch an app that is in a different folder than /Palm/Launcher on your MS.
On my T665, ZLauncher uses 883K of space:
Backimage: 200.3K
ZLauncher: 321.4K
ZLauncherDB: 135K
Theme: 223K
Favorites List: 1.3K
Then miscellaneous files each less than 1K.
I don't use the icon sets, they will add between 108K and 127K (actually take away from available RAM)
