hello..
i tried to search for this issue in the threads but couldn't find it.
that being said...

i'm having problems with installing programs on my memory sticks.

the program is a USDA food guide, with a large data base (~ 1500kb). when i install it on the clie, it runs just fine. but since its a big program i want to run it from my memory sticks. so i installed it on the MS, but when ever i try to run it, it says it can't find the 'database'. i can see the database its looking, ie it is installed. but for some reason it won't run it from MS. do certain programs have to be run form the handheld itself? or can programs be entirely run (all the files associated with it) from MS?

can anyone suggest what i can do?

Thanks..

Peehdee - others will correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like your app will work with the app itself on the MS, but the DB will have to be on the Palm.

"Powerrun" will take care of this and allow you to put both app app and DB on the MS, although at the expense of some speed (may take, say, 5 secs to load)

Simon

Unless the application was designed to read the database from the memory stick, it has to stay in RAM. Fortunately there is PowerRun and you can also use JackFlash if the database is read only to put it in Flash ROM.

PowerRun will move the app and it's associated databases to the MS. It just takes a few seconds longer to load. It's great for freeing up the RAM :)!
